Finding ECG

If driving, coming off the M4 at Junction 11 is the easiest. Leaving at Junction 10 (then down the A329M) is slightly faster but a little more intricate. If approaching Reading from the West, then Junction 12 is best.

With all routes, follow signs to Reading and Reading Town Centre. As you approach the centre, look out for signs to Caversham. Follow these and you will come to the round about before Caversham Bridge. You will recognise this further as opposite you and next to the Bridge is the Holiday Inn.

Cross the bridge, staying in the left hand lane. As you leave the bridge, turn left at the traffic lights using the filter lane. After about 100m, turn 1st right into St Anne’s Road.

Go up the hill. Bear round to the left at the top. You are now on the Mount, which after 100m becomes Kidmore Road. After passing St Andrews Road on your left, 120 Kidmore Road is the first house on the right just as the grass verge begins – about 200m. It has white gate posts and trees at the front.

By Train

There are fast trains (Great Western, sometimes Virgin) to Reading from London Paddington about every 15 minutes during the day. The journey time is about 25 minutes and a standard return fare is about £25 – less if off-peak.

If Great Western is not available, there is usually a fast Thames Train (perhaps stopping once before Reading at Slough). They usually take about 35 minutes to Reading.

Once in Reading, a taxi to Kidmore Road is fastest and easiest. This costs about £7.
